    Gazette: Quarterly Newsletter

Since its humble beginnings in 1982 as an annual typed newsletter, our community publication has undergone a remarkable transformation. In 1994, we evolved into a quarterly newsletter, the Gazette.  This was designed as a vibrant forum to integrate and uplift our neighborhood. Our mission is to foster purpose, bolster community morale, and keep every resident informed.

Each edition of the Gazette features updates on neighborhood changes, practical tips from Neighborhood Watch, insights from the Pet Registry, and contributions from various professionals. Readers will also find timely updates on club activities, community events, local restaurant reviews, special recipes, neighbor acknowledgements, and much more. Additionally, the Gazette provides detailed information about our association’s committees, including the functions and responsibilities of our appointed chairpersons.

What began as a modest four-page newsletter has grown into an engaging publication spanning eight to sometimes fourteen pages. We are committed to giving every resident an equal voice and encourage everyone to contribute engaging articles.  This has led to a flourishing community of regular column writers.

In our conscientious effort to reduce costs and support environmental sustainability, we invite residents who prefer a digital copy, in lieu of the paper version, to contact Andrea to be added to our “digital only” Gazette mailing list.

The Gazette not only meets our community’s informational needs but also plays a crucial role in communicating the support and cooperation that drive the successful implementation of our community projects and programs.

    Wine Club

Welcome to the Peralta Hills Wine Club, a vibrant community for wine enthusiasts eager to deepen their knowledge and savor new flavors. Our club meets every other month and takes pleasure in rotating gatherings at different member’s homes, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all. The host/hostess provides a selection of appetizers and a comfortable setting where we enjoy exquisite wines and great conversation. We ask each participant to bring a bottle of wine to share in the tasting. This opportunity enriches our appreciation for wine and allows us to explore diverse palettes and styles.

On occasion, we invite distinguished wineries to conduct tastings and showcase their finest offerings.

Whether you’re looking to expand your wine expertise, enjoy stimulating discussions, or simply make new friends, the Peralta Hills Wine Club is your perfect destination.

Join us and raise a glass to new experiences and lasting connections!

For more information regarding the wine club, please contact Cathy Wills.

    Kid's Club

The Peralta Hills Kid’s Club was created to bring children and families in our neighborhood together. The distance between houses and the demands of school, extracurricular activities, and sports can make it challenging for kids in our community to connect.

This initiative has brought neighbors closer and fostered lasting friendships among children and their parents. Through fun gatherings, engaging activities, and shared experiences, the club has become a cornerstone in our community, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to form connections right in their own neighborhood.

Every year, our club has two signature events. In October, the neighborhood comes alive with our Halloween Carnival—a day filled with creative costumes, fun games, and delightful surprises that ignite the imagination of every child. Just before Easter, we have our beloved Easter Egg Hunt, where children embark on a joyful treasure hunt that celebrates the arrival of spring.

In addition, as winter draws near, the kids light up the neighborhood, spreading cheer, while Christmas caroling, during the week leading up to the holiday. And adding to our vibrant tradition, children can proudly participate in the 4th of July Parade on Independence Day—waving flags as they march or ride in the convertible driven by our very own Peralta Hills President, Pat Mahoney.

Join us in making Peralta Hills a place where friendships flourish and memories are made!

If you are new to the community and have children, we would love to have your children be a part of our club.

For any questions, ideas, or to join, contact Becky Handley.

    Pet Registry

    Keeping Our Furry Friends Safe!

Our neighborhood Pet Registry Database is a community initiative designed to help lost pets find their way back home quickly and safely. This easy-to-use resource empowers neighbors to act swiftly if they come across a wandering pet. It is recommended to keep an identification tag on your pet, but we understand sometimes situations are beyond our control.

If you’re a pet owner who isn’t yet registered, please send a photo of your pet, along with its name, to Alicia at Alicia.gallegos@ymail.com. Once your pet is added to the database, along with your complete contact information, your pet can be identified.

By participating, you’re also reducing the risk of unnecessary intervention by Orange County Animal Services and protecting your pet from potential harm.

The Pet Registry is found on our PHEIA Facebook Page, under Albums: Pet Registry.  You must be a Peralta Hills Resident and Member of our Private Facebook Group to access the registry.    In addition, we encourage neighbors to post unidentified found and missing pets to our Facebook Group to spread the word.

Join us in this community-wide commitment to pet safety—together, we can make a difference!

*Please note, we are in the process of updating our Pet Registry database.

Former Chair, Cathy Wills, introduces Alicia and Max Gallegos to take over the PHEIA Pet Registry, as of April 2025.
